Bantefa

Lecture notes, written for you

Record the lecture. Get the notes.

Bantefa records your classes on your phone, writes a transcript as the lecture goes, and turns it into clear notes. It catches every deadline your lecturer mentions and reminds you before each class.

ECO 201: Principles of Economics · Class 7

Recording, 48 min

Transcript, about a minute behind

"...so elasticity tells us how much the quantity demanded changes when the price changes. Write this down: if it's more than one, demand is elastic."

Notes

1. Price elasticity of demand

How strongly demand responds to a change in price. More than one means elastic.

Assignment 2Fri 30 Oct, 5 PMreminder set

An example class, as Bantefa shows it.

What Bantefa does

Everything a good classmate does for you, from the first minute of the lecture to the day the assignment is due.

Records the whole class

Tap record and put your phone down. Bantefa keeps recording with the screen off and sends the audio up a minute at a time.

A transcript that keeps up

Follow along while the lecture goes on. The transcript runs about a minute behind your lecturer.

Notes when class ends

Clear notes in the order the class went, with the key lines highlighted and a checklist for before the next class.

Every deadline, caught

When your lecturer mentions an assignment or a test, it goes on your list, with reminders a day before and 3 hours before. If no time was given, Bantefa says so instead of guessing.

A nudge before each class

Add your timetable once and get a reminder 10 minutes before every class: "ECO 201 in 10 min. Tap to record."

Notes for the whole class

Make a class and share the link. When one classmate records, everyone in the class who subscribes reads the full notes. Audio is never shared.

Ask about any lecture

Type or say a question and get an answer from what was actually said in class.

Flag a moment

Knock twice on your phone when something matters. The notes cover every moment you flagged.

How it works

  1. Add your timetable

Snap a photo of it, paste it from WhatsApp, or join your class and get the one your course rep set up. Fix anything on the week grid.

  2. Record each class

Bantefa reminds you 10 minutes before. Tap record, put the phone down, and listen to your lecturer.

  3. Read, search and ask

Watch the transcript come in, then read the notes when class ends. Deadlines land on your list with their reminders.

Questions

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account gets 3 recordings, once, each written up to 2 hours, plus 5 questions. No card needed. A recording under 5 minutes gives its slot back.

What happens when my hours run out?

Bantefa keeps recording and keeps your audio. The notes wait until you top up or your next month starts, then they're written. You never lose a recording.

Does my lecturer have to agree?

Ask your lecturer before you record, and follow your school's rules. If you make a class to share notes, you confirm the lecturer agreed. Lecturers can ask for a class's notes to come down on our page for lecturers.

Who sees my recordings?

Only you, unless you record into a class. Then your classmates in that class can read the notes and transcript: in full if they subscribe, a preview if they don't. Your audio is never shared, and nothing is ever public.

Do I pay when a classmate records?

No. Hours come off the plan of the person who records. To read a class's full notes you need a plan of your own. Without one you see the lecture list, the deadlines and the first part of each set of notes.

Where does my audio go?

To our server, where our own transcriber writes it down. When it's busy, Groq or Google's Gemini does it instead. Gemini then writes the notes and answers your questions, so your recordings and transcripts are processed outside Nigeria. The app asks for your OK before your first recording. Read more in our privacy policy.

Can I use a plan I bought here in the app?

Yes. Sign in to the app with the same Google or Apple account and your plan is there.

Can I pay by bank transfer?

Yes, for semester passes and top-ups on this website, which take card, bank transfer or USSD. Monthly plans renew from a card.

How do I cancel?

A monthly plan bought here: stop it renewing on your account page. It runs to the end of the month you paid for. A plan bought in the app: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.

Which phones does it work on?

iPhone and Android. Both apps are coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.

Can my school get it for everyone?
How do I delete my account?

In the app, or on our delete your account page. Everything you recorded goes with it.

Coming soon to your phone
